10/11/05 Graduate Opportunities

Last night I attended a Reuters graduate opportunities presentation in the DCU Hub for technology students. I was very impressed by the level of responsibility handed down to graduates and the tasks I could achieve if selected for the programme. Competition is tough, first the application form & C.V. stage, 40 students pass through this onto a trip to London for an assessment day, which includes aptitude tests, teamwork challenges and an interview panel. This will nail it down to 10 students who will begin four sequential 6-month placements in Reuters London offices at Canary Wharf where a minimum of one 6-month placement is overseas (Geneva & New York are two possibilities).

I’m psyched about doing something like this, it seems to be a great opportunity.
