With the launch of RSS feeds by ByteSurgery for Imagefile just before Christmas, it was announced yesterday morning that Imagefile Ireland have taken their website another step to allow online transactions!

“I never thought Monday morning could be such fun!” said Imagefile’s director Jaimie Blandford, as the company launched e-commerce on their website today.

“Let me tell you there’s much more to e-commerce than credit cards! For example our regular clients will be invited to open Business Accounts which will enable them to download high resolution images at any time, and have them charged to their account. Other enhancements include the automatic saving of purchased images in their own personal archive at Imagefile. Having your own archive also means that when you purchase a CD, all the images instantly appear in your archive ready for downloading whenever you want them. No more waiting for that CD in the post!”

The Imagefile Ireland website is one of the first to allow the online purchase of ‘Rights Managed’ imagery, preparing the license fully online in an automated process. The user can now download the high resolution image with usage rights without the delay of human interaction!
