16/02/06 CommentCasting is Coming!

CommentCasting

The plans are in the works, CommentCasting has got the go ahead from the university for my Final Year Project, and I’m presenting my idea to a panel next week. Until then, you can gaze at the above image… and read some of the below text!

Podcasting & RSS

  • Podcasting or ‘radio on demand’ is the distribution of audio MP3 files over the internet by an RSS subscription.
  • Once subscribed to an RSS file, the client software will automatically download and transfer any new files to the users mobile audio device.
  • Who is podcasting? BBC, RTE Radio, NewsTalk, business shows & amateurs.
  • ‘CommentCasting’ will target the business shows & amateurs.

How will Comment Casting work?

  • Podcaster’s will read out a phone number and ID.
  • Listeners will ring the number and enter the ID (selecting dialplan extension to signify which podcast they are referencing).
  • They will be given a 1 minute time slot to record a comment on the show.
  • Their comment will be kept in a moderation area until approved by the Podcaster.
  • 2 RSS feeds will be generated, one with the comments only, and another with combined comments & podcasts allowing listeners to subscribe to either option.
