15/05/06 Image Processing and Analysis Exam

Tomorrow is my 3rd last exam at DCU, and the first of my last set of finals (half of them were completed by January). Titled ‘Image Processing & Analysis’ the course deals with understanding and implementing (using NeatVision) all the image transforms, mathematical morphological operators, classification, colour analysis, texture analysis and algorithm performance.
Assignments for the subject have included industrial applications such as automatically isolating bottle cap flutes (ridges) to count the correct number are present before sealing the bottle-top and analysing circuit boards to determine the number of components, identifying the largest one and measuring it’s size. The marking scheme is based on robustness of your application to noise, rotation and scaling.
I’m pretty prepared for tomorrow. I find the topic interesting, hence easier to study. Tomorrow *should* be ok.
Study got a little cut short tonight though.
