09/02/07 BarCamp Ireland 3 - Dublin
I’m booking flights to attend Ireland’s BarCamp 3 in Dublin on April 21st 2007.
BarCamp is a technology-focused, ad-hoc gathering of passionate folks who want to share, interact and spread the love around what they spend their days and nights toiling away on. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.
I’m keen to give a talk at this one, but unsure of the best topic to talk about. I could always fall back on Asterisk & CommentCasting. I’m tempted to talk about ‘FindMeA’ and investing my money into AdSense sites. A run-down of the London web2.0 scene (although not sure I’ve much authority on that!).
Would be happy to chair an innovation talk maybe, how about holding a “HalfBaked” session?
Act 1: start by having people yell out ~50 random words.
Act 2: split into teams of 5, each chooses 2 words + “.comâ€Â
Act 3: each team has ~10 min to prep their Word1Word2.com biz plan (biz plan = product idea, revenue model, marketing plan, logo, tagline)
Act 4: each team does a 5 minute pitch on their product to a Venture Capitalist
Act 5: vote on who did the best job, then celebrate!
Example video.
Would like feedback.
