20/04/07 See you at BarCamp Ireland 3 (Dublin)

As I said, I’m flying back this weekend to go to BarCamp Ireland 3. With the momentum gained since I was last at TechCamp and the upcoming Paddys Valley Tour initiative I think it could be something really special.

As with all BarCamp’s and the unconference format, you choose the talks you wish to hear… my top 3 are currently listed below. There are many more I want to hear - but these ones jumped out at me.

  1. Darren Barefoot, Social media marketing, or how I learned to love the mob.
  2. John Ward. Cengal - Selling Web 2.0 to Irish Financial Institutions
  3. Paul Campbell. The choices that lead to Rails.

I’m still eager enough to talk about something but haven’t had the chance to put together a topic yet. Maybe I could still run an ice-breaker!

People I’m looking forward to actually meeting in person for the first time:

  • Keith Bohanna
  • Walter Higgins
  • Alastair McDermott
  • Niall Larkin
  • Krishna De
  • Richard Hearne
  • Eoghan McCabe

Sorry if I’ve missed anyone else… (and the rest of you I’ve previously met either in Dublin or London don’t need introductions!)

Unfortunately I’m gonna miss this. Have to “manage” a football team that afternoon. Make sure to take some photos and video.

Good to see you today Robin - altho we did not get to chat for long. See you again at another one maybe. I enjoy Darrens talk - did not see the other two.

HI Keith! Yes we should catch up properly. It probably didn’t help but I had to run off at 4pm anyway!
