LONDON, UK - Yesterday we attended a training course “Presenting with Confidence”. I’m unsure about how much confidence it actually gave me, rather maybe helped me structure presentation content better. We were filmed giving a presentation to all the other trainees - and given it on video to take home and analyse our distracting bad habits.
We each had to come with a presentation prepared on a topic of our choice. Without my own ready, I pretended to be Saul Klein of Index Ventures for an afternoon and gave his “Why Europe needs to seed the growth of its new stars” live from the web on SlideShare. 43 slides in 10 minutes, bang bang bang, high impact, worked well. Although seen as a rookie mistake and I told to slow way down next time. Fair point.
After the work day, I must say thanks to mbites at tbites for the NMK Digital Media Forum 07 drinks invite. I met a tired but extremely happy Ian Delaney (NMK) who seemed to have pulled off the event well. Must say hi to Jim from Linden Labs who’s setting up a new Second Life dev centre in Brighton, UK. He needs lots of coders, if you fancy moving to the sea-side.
