31/07/07 Training: Global Financial Markets
LONDON, UK - Last week we took a 2 day course in Global Financial Markets. It was a fantastic introduction to the world of trading with both wealth manager & trading floor simulations run for our group (Note: I made €384,000 of monopoly money on ‘Marks & Spencer’ stocks, not bad!).
We talked about all the types of markets, futures, equities, bonds, options, FX, commodities, etc. We looked at the operation of the NYSE, LSE, NASDAQ, CME and how to read their indices. Finally, the course finished with a very practical session: How to read & analyse the Financial Times! I don’t feel so lost now when I turn to its centre pages.
This course continues next summer with a 5-day deep dive into each of the markets.

Robin,
Did they give you any online resources that the rest of can refer to? :-)
Thanks
Paul
They’re password protected Paul…. but http://www.morningstar.com/Cover/Classroom.html is a public one that’s excellent.
