18/11/07 Losing the value of your content
LONDON, UK - I’ve noticed my blogging levels increase, and my feed-reading reduce. My online time has not reduced, so where am I getting my thrills from?
Very interestingly my Google Reader stats show I’ve just stopped reading the big tech blogs, there’s simply too much, I can’t keep up with it:
TechCrunch: 168
Blognation: 182
It’s something I’m very wary of with Team Geared Up, what is the optimum number of posts a day to keep your content at a premium. I believe that once people start ’skipping’ the odd post, it loses its value dramatically.
We buy newspapers as we are buying the time the editor has taken to tell us which are the best reads/news to know about. I’ve started using personal filters more now through the likes of Jaiku and personal blogs.

Please keep writing because you’re a seer to many who follow.
Im of a similar experience to you - I’ve noticed that I’m clicking the ‘mark all as read’ option for the likes of Crunchgear, etc most days now as it’s too much hassle to try read them all. Definitely a bit of an issue with TGU - I think we all are aware of it…..
Having the same issue. I’ve recently unsubscribed from certain blogs as they’re just overwhelming me with posts.
