25/11/07 Touristr meet Flickr Places
DUBLIN, IRELAND - Ok, so it’s not quite the same, but it shows the power behind Flickr. Flickr Places launched during the week and it plots all their photos into named towns. Very powerful. See my hometown.
Interested to hear what Jan thinks. I wonder should touristr be focusing on pulling in Flickr’s API to enhance their own content with photos rather than encouraging photos to be uploaded direct to touristr.
If I was Yahoo I’d add a payment gateway onto Flickr.com. How powerful would that be? 900,000 new stock photos a day. Buh bye ‘iStock Photo’. That would please me a lot.

Wow. Great idea. There are so many hot photos on Flickr I’d love to buy and use in my work.
exactly!
They have to do it soon.
I have over 4000 uploaded hi-res.
I love flickr place. Design is good and photos are relevant. Any ideas if they will release an api soon?
We’re already importing Panoramio photos (on the fly) on all TouristR destinations. I looked at doing the same for Flickr but the pb is the import was not specific to the place. So we could get , my birthday in howth, my beautiful kitchen… it looks like with flickr places, they have overcome this issue. Watch out for our next upgrade!
great stuff!
