11/02/08 It’s Not Your Choice - It’s Theirs.
SINGAPORE - I hate commentating on this topic but I need to pitch in and say “Why should you choose the shop window rather than make it your contacts choice?”
People are products. Contacts are clients. It is the client that should have the choice in which way to purchase the product.
If people feel so strongly that everyone should conform to their choice of communication only, then how about… close your company website. Bin any print material you have. Close your blog.
Instead - open a company Facebook Business page as your only shop window. You wouldn’t do that - you wouldn’t force away people who want to give you money because they don’t use your communication channel. So why is selling yourself suddenly different to selling your products? It’s not - it’s just not a financial transaction.
It’s not your choice to choose the shop window, it’s your clients. Every person, company & product should sell themselves through multiple mediums (Note: With lots of shop windows to choose from, each medium may use a different style.) giving choice not limitations.
