12/02/08 No respect for the status quo…
SINGAPORE - On the MRT this morning I finished Guy Kawasaki’s “Rules for Revolutionaries” (Full review in draft form at present). In the meantime, I wanted to post this paragraph of text included in the opening chapter…
Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels. The trouble makers.
The round pegs in square holes. The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.You can quote them, disagree with them,
glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things. They push the human race forward,
and while some may see them as the crazy ones,
we see genius, because the ones who are crazy
enough to think that they can change the world,
are the ones who do.
That really struck an emotion with me. The minute I read it last Thursday morning, I knew I’d be writing this post.
Unfortunately, I discovered it was from an Apple Mac advertisement in 1997. When you add a corporate slant & logo to it, there’s a loss its power in the message. See the final advert.
I still think I’ll keep that to one side, I really like it. It gives me direction towards un-direction.

Love the qoute, I imagine it helps to keep you motivated with all the ideas and projects you seem to have going on! Keep it going, you’re a genius yourself!
