30/06/08 Move Away From The Computer.
CHICAGO, UNITED STATES - I’m getting sick of geeks creating more tools for geeks.
Go get a hobby off your computer and solve a real problem.
It has to do one of two things…
- Use technology invisibly in the background so people don’t know where the magic is happening. It just happens.
- Bring new people into technology, so they understand where the magic is happening. New users - not the same 65,000 geeks who sign-up to be able to associate tags with everything in their life.
If your idea is technology for technologists it probably won’t go anywhere. Go find a real problem that real people have and solve that.
Move away from the computer - socialise with the 99.99% of people who haven’t heard and don’t want to hear about Flickr, Twitter or RSS.
-Robin.
